How To Use Your Natural Dog Ear Cleaner

Check the ears. If you see something unusual such as dark discharge, wounds or scabs then it would be best to speak to your vet before attempting to clean your dogâ€™s ears. A normal ear will just have a light coating of wax and dirt.

Hold the ear so the ear canal is horizontal. Pour the dog ear drops into the ear canal until you can see the liquid. Don't worry, you cannot over fill it.

Massage the base of the ear. You should hear a squelching sound. This is massaging the lower ear canal to work the wax and dirt loose.

Clean the ear with cotton wool. Only use q-tips to clean the outer areas of the ear. You can let your dog shake his head to get the rest of the dog ear drop solution out.

I bought this for my cat Odin as he occasionally gets weepy eyes. I don't use the dropper as he's not impressed with that, so I just put a bit on a cotton wool pad and clean his eye. Works so well I've purchased a 2nd bottle. A lot cheaper than a visit to the vets!

My pug developed dry eye this summer following a nasty eye infection. I got the eye infection cleared up with antibiotic ointment from the vets but switched to vogel eye drops and lubricant for a month before the vet made me feel guilty for not using the expensive cream they recommend for dry eye, so I switched and within 4 days, an eye infection returned so back to my own approach once I cleared up that.

The vogel drops are great but recommended just one drop and after the last infection, she was needing lubrication 5/6 times per day.

Now we get away with 3 times a day and alternate this with gel tears and vogel eye drops extra moisture with gel tears and she's doing great.
